What’s so rewarding about that kind of serenity is that healing and joy can be experienced much more quickly than you might imagine.
When we’ve been wounded and traumatized as children, whether the trauma was intentional or unintentional, we form beliefs in attempts to protect ourselves. Those beliefs might work while we are young, but they were created in minds not fully developed, so there comes a time in our adulthood when those beliefs start to backfire on us. For example, in my body, the belief that it is “not safe to be a woman” caused my body to produce as much testosterone as a teenage boy—for years—as a young woman. In my Readings for people, I look for those beliefs, because while they made perfect sense to in the past as a child, they can wreak havoc in adulthood. Once these beliefs are recognized and we summon the courage to let go of them, deeper levels of transformation occur.
