This summer the Minnesota Department of Education is hosting 3 FREE in-person Professional Development opportunities. Free in-person is first come, first served. There will be a waiting list. PD Sessions are for MN Math Educators and Leaders.
The schedule for each day is as follows:
Morning 8:30AM - 11:30AM
Lunch (on your own) 11:30AM - 12:30PM
Afternoon 12:30PM - 3:30PM
You will engage in meaningful, hands-on learning to deepen your understanding of the shifts and standards in the new 2022 Minnesota Math Standards.
These are more than just a training - it's a chance to collaborate with other passionate educators, explore impactful instructional strategies, and build a strong foundation for implementing the standards in a way that supports all students.
Whether you're just starting to explore the shifts or ready to dig deeper, this experience will equip you with tools, insights, and inspiration to bring back to your classroom and your team.
June 16 - 18, 2025 - Anchor Standard 7 Standards Institute. Learn about the shifts in the K-12 Patterns & Relationships (Algebra) Strand. Experience the mathematics and leave with ways to bring mathematical rigor to 'patterns and relationships'.
June 20, 2025 - Implementing the 8 Mathematical Practices. This session is a follow-up to the school year webinar series, with practical hands on experiences with the 8 math practices.
August 6-8, 2025 - Anchor Standards 5 Part 1 Standards Institute. (part 2 will be summer 2026, those who attend part 1 will have first dibs on part 2). All MDE PD options are in-person. There will be math leaders leading connected PD across the State. Whether you're in the room with the presenter or joining from a satellite site, you'll be part of the same engaging, connected experience. With live video, real-time collaboration, and intentional facilitation at every location, we're making sure every participant feels like they're right there in the room.
Space is limited. If you register, please commit to doing your best to attend so you are not taking a seat from someone else.
