Environment Series: Examining Alternatives to Exclusionary Discipline

This series will support leaders in examining alternatives to exclusionary discipline.

Participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of how to build welcoming school environments and structure of belonging.

  • Develop skills to implement instructional, restorative, and reflective responses to employ supportive discipline practices.


Audience: Ideal for building level Climate & Culture leaders (prefer 2-3 members to attend). District level climate and culture leaders are also welcomed to attend.

Introduction to MnMTSS 6-session pathway

The BrightWorks COMPASS MnMTSS Regional Leads will be facilitating the Introduction to MnMTSS 6-session pathway in person.


For teams that want to maximize their meeting and travel time, we will have the space and time to meet on either side of the sessions from 8:30AM - 9:00AM and 11:30AM - 12:30PM.

Building a Strong Attendance Team


February 11, 2026, March 11, 2026, April 8, 2026, & May 13, 2026

12:00PM - 1:30PM

Building an attendance team or preparing an existing team to integrate attendance improvement functions, is an essential strategy to improving attendance. This pathway helps district/school leaders and staff build an effective attendance team using the MnMTSS framework.


Teams will:

  • Examine how to build a team that reviews and analyzes attendance data,

  • Identifies the root causes of chronic absences,

  • & designs and delivers interventions and supports for students and families.


Audience: School and district leaders, attendance team members as well as other school staff who support attendance initiatives.


Delivery: Four 1.5-hour sessions.

IN-PERSON Community of Practice: District Literacy Leads

A forum for members to discuss, problem solve, share information and build relationships around their common role. With the guidance from the Regional Literacy Networks, participants will engage in professional development that will support the Local Certified Facilitators in supporting their district in achieving the goals of the MN READ Act.
