Subject: We Have Joel Salatin's Back

Hi Friend,
Join us for A Day on the Farm with the one and only Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms!

If you don’t know Joel, to put it mildly, he’s the lead rockstar of the regenerative agriculture movement in the U.S. and beyond! Joel and Polyface Farms were popularized by Michael Pollan’s New York Times bestseller The Omnivore’s Dilemma. You may have also seen Joel in the award-winning documentary Food Inc. and many others. Joel is known for his entertaining speeches often receiving standing ovations and for his dozen well-received and engaging books.

He’s one of our first members, since August 2007, just one month after we launched. Joel has used our services a handful of times. This one sticks out: a few years ago Joel received a concerning call from a chef, one of many using his eggs in local restaurants, who had just been told by the city health inspector that the eggs were from an unapproved source. One call from an FTCLDF attorney to the health department straightened out the issue and Joel was able to continue selling his eggs to all of the same local restaurants.

Also, if you source food from small, chemical-free farms near you with multiple animal species, chances are that they modeled their farms off of Joel’s Polyface Farms! Just ask them! Joel’s really at the forefront of this regenerative ag movement and we’re glad to have his back after all these years.

Joel, America's favorite farmer, wants other small farmers to have continued access to FTCLDF attorneys, which is why he’s offered to donate his time and charisma to speak not just once but twice in North Carolina. Won’t you join us in protecting access to real, local food and being a part of the solution to the industrial food system problem?

Spend the day mingling with happy farm animals, taking a hay wagon tour to learn about regenerative farming methods, and enjoying a performance or two with Joel Salatin, the self proclaimed “Christian libertarian environmentalist capitalist lunatic farmer!”

Proceeds from the September 21 events will help protect access to foods from American small farmers, artisans, and homesteaders and maintain an alternative to Big Ag.
