Important Update: Oregon Department of Agriculture Backs Down on CAFO Permitting for Small Farms!

Strength in Numbers

Dear Friend,

A quick note on some great news in Oregon!

On March 21, 2024, the Oregon Department of Agriculture announced that it has withdrawn its new policy that would require any small producer, including small dairy producers, to obtain the state CAFO water discharge permit.

This is a rule that FTCLDF and others have been working to change for the last year.

FTCLDF will continue to follow ODA Rulemaking carefully and certainly weigh in to the benefit of our member when the time comes.

In good health,
