Dear Friend,

Throughout the state legislative season, we at Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund (FTCLDF) have been keeping you informed as to food freedom initiatives throughout the country. With the close of the season, please check out the final roundup of updates: many states have passed or updated their cottage food laws, permitting greater ease of sale of homemade foods and products.

Colorado and Nebraska have added exciting animal share laws permitting animal shares to be sold for purposes of obtaining meat. Montana finally adopted the federal exemption permitting on-farm poultry processing for 1,000 birds or less, and now permits the sale of raw milk from a small dairy of 5 or less lactating cows, 10 or less lactating goats, or 10 or less lactating sheep!

FTCLDF is so pleased with these developments and the fact that there appears to be nationwide movement to embrace food freedom. Thank you to all those who responded to action alerts throughout the season to help make these changes happen. To read the latest roundup, check out our recent webpost HERE.

Thank you for your continued support of FTCLDF, food freedom, and working to improve our food system.

In good health,
