Action Alert: Support NH Small Egg Producers

MA Hearing 7/9 on Cottage Foods

Dear Friend,

New Hampshire House Bill 1186 will be reviewed in a hearing before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee on April 2 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 103 of the State House Building (107 N Main St, Concord, NH 03301).

The bill seeks to update NH law regarding the sale and labeling of eggs and to impose new refrigeration standards for egg sales, though small egg producers would be exempt from most of the bill’s requirements.

TALKING POINTS

  1. Passage of the small producer exemption provisions of HB 1186 would enable family farmers to make a better living by reducing the regulatory burdens on the sale of eggs.

  2. HB 1186 would enable small, independent farms to make a better living by increasing the products they can sell that consumers want.

  3. HB 1186 would keep more of the food dollar in local communities and boost the local economy with the increase in locally-produced foods that consumers can obtain.

Taking action serves to increase #foodfreedom!
