MA Hearing 7/9 on Cottage Foods

Dear Friend,


New Hampshire Senate Bill 418 will be reviewed and testimony from the public accepted in a hearing before the House Environment and Agriculture Committee on March 31at 10:30 a.m.  in Room 153 at the Legislative Offices at Granite Place (1 Granite Place, Concord, NH).


The bill seeks to prohibit municipalities from requiring licenses for the production and sale of homemade foods, and would greatly help farms and small food producers expand their operations by limiting binding regulations.



About the hearing

A hearing on this bill will take place Tuesday March 31 at 10:30 am ET before the House Environment and Agriculture Committee in Concord.


The hearing will be livestreamed and the public is invited to participate in-person.


If you cannot participate at the hearing, you can also submit comments in advance.

Action Step #1

Attend the hearing and testify in support of this legislation! If you would like to submit testimony on this bill to the Environment and Ag Committee, you can attend the hearing in person on March 31at 10:30 a.m.  in Room 153 at the Legislative Offices at Granite Place (1 Granite Place, Concord, NH).  


You will be allowed to speak at the hearing if you like, or you can sign the public hearing form if you wish to lend your support but prefer not speak.

Submit written comments in support of this legislation! If you are unable to attend the hearing you may submit written comments to the Environment and Agriculture  Committee using the form at this link.

  1. Passage of SB 418 would enable family farmers to make a better living by increasing the allowable sales of food produced on the farm.

  3. SB 418 would keep more of the food dollar in local communities and boost the local economy with the increase in locally-produced foods that consumers can obtain.
