Subject: Your support helps engage our community with science and history

Thank you for supporting Sloan Museum & Longway Planetarium.
As the days get brighter and longer, we reflect on this past year and look forward with new hopes of a brighter future for the world we share. We reflect on the variety of hardships people young and old have faced—systemic racism, physical and mental health struggles, the struggles of virtual schooling, and the daily changes in all of our lives due to the pandemic. Through it all, one thing we cannot let fall to the wayside is education. As we have seen from this past year, we can only truly tackle the issues we face through caring for each other and exercising the strength that knowledge provides us.

Here at Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium, we are more than cultural institutions. We stand as a cornerstone of our community with a mission to provide the tools to explore the lessons of history and the power of science to those who otherwise might not have the opportunity. We know how important it is to expand minds through education. That’s why even in these challenging times, we continue to persevere in order to help each other learn, grow, and succeed.

With new community engagement initiatives, virtual tools, and innovative programming, we are dedicated to progressing onward and upward. Our summer camps are a fun way to continue the learning some children may have missed out on in 2020. Not only does summer learning strengthen skills, but it also helps strengthen social relationships. Prefer to stay home? Our virtual programs help make learning from home more accessible. Visit SloanLongway.org for tons of fun virtual tools and experiments to try at home.

Today, I am asking you to consider contributing to Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium. Your gift will help provide low-cost summer camps to underserved youth, provide free virtual learning tools for people of all ages, support us in initiatives to continue sharing and preserving history, and expand programming in STEM education. Join us in helping build a brighter future for all those in our community.

Clear Skies,
