MEMBER MOMENT: Series of Webb telescope Events at Longway Planetarium
NASA Reveals Space Images from James Webb Telescope at Longway Planetarium in Series of Events 
When the James Webb Telescope was launched on Christmas Eve last year it was hailed as a technologically-advanced replacement for the Hubble space telescope. NASA is now ready to release the first images of Webb on July 15. Patrick Ross, Longway Planetarium Manager, explains the landmark series of events being held at the Planetarium, one of the institutions around the country NASA selected for the live stream. Here are the dates and times for the events:

July 8 and July 9, 3 p.m. & 5 p.m. (both dates) - An update of the Nov. 2021 talk, this will explore the design of the telescope and familiarize the audience with the mission. 

July 12, 6 p.m. (doors open 5:30 p.m.) - NASA will be streaming a live panel of experts to discuss the newly-released images. Come watch inside the Planetarium on the dome. Reserve your spot here.

July 15 and July 16, 3 p.m. & 5 p.m. (both dates)- With the Webb telescope images released, a special lecture will be given at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to review their implications to science and what they reveal.
