MEMBER MOMENT: two new live-format astronomy shows coming to Longway
Planetarium Manager Patrick Ross Creates Two New Live-format Astronomy Shows
Astronomy fans will love these two brand new, home-grown live shows coming to the Longway Planetarium, courtesy of Planetarium Manager Patrick Ross

In this video, Ross describes the 3-month live astronomy series, Space Academy, targeted towards kids at a 3rd grade lever or older. This live interactive lecture was created so that the long-running live astronomy program, Skies Over Michigan, could stay at an adult level while gearing Space Academy to school-age kids. This way, everyone can enjoy and interact at an appropriate level. Buy tickets to Space Academy here.

The second new live astronomy program, Cultural Astronomy, starts in July focusing on how the stars, planets and galaxies shaped mythologies, religions, and even architecture within various cultures. The first Cultural Astronomy lecture starts Friday, July 8, 6 p.m., and will be presented monthly on the second Saturday of every Friday for the next 12 months. Learn more at SloanLongway.org/Cultural-Astronomy or order tickets here.
