16+ Hobby Workshop - Paper Quilling

Thursday, July 9, 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Twist, roll, and pink paper into beautiful works of art in this workshop on the art of paper quilling! Learn different rolling techniques and how to use them to create different shapes and textures for your art piece.

Grown-up Book Fair: Fantasy Edition
July 25 | 6-9 p.m. |Sloan Museum of Discovery

Step into the magic at the Grown Up Book Fair: Fantasy Edition! A book fair for lovers of fantasy, romantasy, dark academia, and mythical tales. Browse unique vendors and authors, enjoy themed drinks and treats, and grab a bite from local food trucks. Includes entry to Sloan’s new interactive exhibit, The Lost World of Dragons. Must be 18+ to enter.

$10 for Adults 18+. Tickets and info at SloanLongway.org/BookFair.

Current Traveling Exhibit: The Lost World of Dragons
Now Open through September 13

Explore the legends behind these mythical beasts in this 6000 square foot interactive exhibition inspired by dragon mythology. This exhibit features life-size animatronic dragons and interactive displays.

D&D Nights
July 8 (sold out), July 22, Aug. 5, Aug. 19 | 6 - 9 p.m.

Join us this summer for a special "one-shot" Dungeons & Dragons campaign, designed for families, first-time players, and seasoned adventurers! Whether you're brand new to the game or a longtime hero of the realms, there's a seat at the table for you. Advance registration is required as space is limited. "Change Starts Here" Exhibit - Free with General Admission
Explore this exhibit free with your museum admission in celebration of America 250. The timeline-based exhibit features artifacts, text panels and graphics highlighting significant events in Genesee County and how they influenced national events. This exhibit will be on display in the Sloan Museum circulation corridor during regular museum hours through 2026.

Take a deep dive into newly released JWST images and explore the physics and astronomy behind these cutting edge images. Topics will include nebulae, galaxies, star formation, and planetary physics!
