You're Invited: 31st Annual Golden Memories Car Show at Sloan Museum Sunday, September 21 | 9 AM–4 PM
Whether you own a vintage beauty or just love admiring them, the Golden Memories Car Show is the perfect way to spend a Sunday. This free, laid-back event celebrates original and authentically restored vehicles from 1975 or earlier—no flashy mods, just timeless classics.
Admission to the car show is free for everyone, so bring your friends, family, and curiosity! Please note there will be a charge for admission to the museum for spectators that do not live in Genesee County.
Vehicle Owners:
If you’re showing a car, registration is open from 8:30 AM to Noon in the parking lot on the north side of Whiting Auditorium. Exhibitors receive:- Free admission to the car show for driver + one passenger
- Free entry to Sloan Museum of Discovery, Flint Institute of Arts, and Applewood Estate.
- 10% off gift shop purchases
Visitors:
Come stroll among rows of stunning vintage vehicles, chat with owners, and soak in the nostalgia. No registration needed—just show up and enjoy!
What makes Golden Memories special?
It’s a relaxed, DJ-free day where the cars do the talking. Thanks to our generous sponsors—Attentive Industries, Friends of Sloan & Longway, Roaring 20’s Ice Cream Parlor, and Hot Dog Heaven—the event is free for both exhibitors and guests.

- Suitcase Swap Meet: Got parts or memorabilia that fit in a suitcase? Bring ’em to sell or trade!
- Owners Choice Award: Vote for your favorite car of the show.
- Youngest Registrant Award: Celebrating the next generation of car lovers.
- Hourly Drawings: Win free hot dogs and ice cream cones!
- Dash Plaques: First 160 vehicles get one—Registration begins at 8:30am.
Special Highlights:
- Recognition for vehicles turning 50, 75, or 100 years old with a pass-in-review.
- No formal judging—just admiration and appreciation.
- Next year’s dash plaque design chosen by lottery.
- Bonus Perks for Exhibitors:
- Each vehicle’s driver and one passenger receive free admission to the show grounds, free entry to Sloan Museum of Discovery, and 10% off gift shop purchases.
