Three new Lightroom classes To a lot of photographers there is a big downside to digital, you have to process the photos in the computer. The reality is that every photo needs to have post production work to bring out what you actually saw on location. Especially when you are shooting RAW format. The photo above is what the scene looked like when I made the picture but the digital file didn't look anything like it. That's where Lightroom comes to the rescue. Sure, there are other programs that will get the job done but Lightroom is easy to learn and to use and the results speak for themselves. Plus it is so valuable as a way to keep track of your images and find whatever you need quickly.
I have three new Lightroom workshops coming up, I set them up so they are progressive, take all three and you'll have almost all the skills you need. If you want to do just one session, either to learn something new or refresh, then you're able to do that too. The first two sessions cover the basics while the last session digs deep in the Develop module so you should have some Lightroom experience, like the other sessions, before jumping into it.

Indoor light painting workshop Photography is all about capturing light, the better the light the better the photo. Controlling the light when you can makes a huge difference, so these chilly winter days are a great time to learn some new shooting skill. I'm doing a series of classes on Jan. 12, 26 and Feb. 9 so you can do some shooting, get feedback and have a lot of fun. I'll show you some easy techniques that don't require any special equipment other than a pen light flashlight and some aluminum foil. You'll be surprised at the special look you will create. | | | Peru, Iceland, Acadia still a goWhile almost every trip is cancelled for the first part of this year, I'm still planning some exciting travel photography workshops later in the year. Photographing Peru and Machu Picchu is something every photographer should consider. We have one of Peru's top guides taking us to famous and out of the way places. It will be one of those trips you'll never forget. We'll head there in November.
Iceland is one those places I can't visit enough. The summer landscape is phenomenal and it is so easy to get around. I've been there six times in the last four years so I know some great spots that you don't get to photograph on larger commercial tours. It will be August 15-20.
And Acadia National Park in Maine is hard to beat. We'll go June 2-6, when the bright spring colors are still around and the crowds haven't arrived yet.
All of my workshops will follow up-to-date CDC recommendations and you can sure that if I need to cancel a workshop you'll get a full refund. |
| | Fall foliage in Vermont October sounds like a long time from now and you really have to think covid will be under control by then. I did limited-size workshops last fall and the colors came through for us as usual. Autumn in Vermont is always spectacular and I go to places where others don't, like the scene above. The 2021 workshop is Oct. 4-8 in Woodstock, VT. |
