Getting off road with a new Bronco
I like my toys, and I don't like to brag, but I just got a real cool one - a new Ford Bronco. It is built for off-roading and going to locations most vehicles can't. The new Bronco is pretty hard to get, most people pre-ordered and are still waiting a year later. I talked to a local dealer a couple of months ago and he said it could be two years before I got one since I didn't pre-order. A couple of weeks ago the A/C went out on my eight-year-old SUV and that was the last straw. Robin, my wife and master researcher, found this one right away at another dealer. The person who ordered got tired of waiting and didn't want it. We went that day, test drove and she made me get it, well kinda. I've gotten it muddy a few times and already found a reservoir that I didn't know was two miles from my house. I'll be making some great photos there. It's a lot of fun and even Robin likes riding through trails in the woods. This is one of the reasons I'm in Vermont! |
| | | | I had a couple of cancellations for my workshop in Peru this November. A woman and her husband were going but she has to have hip surgery and won't be healed in time. Her misfortune reinforces that I need to do things while I can and not wait. Peru has been on my bucket list for a while and I'm excited to go. I'm partnering with Sarah McGarghan, who made the photo above. She has been there several times and has a Peruvian travel company. She has a local guide who will get us in some great photographic out-of-the-way locations and show us where to make unique shots at must-see places like Machu Picchu. I hope you can join us, it will be a great experience. You can get more info at https://lorenphotos.com/mevents/machu-picchu-and-peru-photography-workshop/ |
| | | Still a few openings for Vermont Night Skies and Light Painting Workshops in June and Aug. I just finished the May version of my Vermont Night Skies and Light Painting workshop. I'm a bit tired, I'm not usually a night owl, so going to bed at 2:00 or later is a bit tough but fun. We got some great Milky Way shots and got out the flashlights to do some real fun light painting, like the old barn above. There is something special about being out in the Vermont night where the only sounds you hear are frogs croaking and peeping, an occasion owl or coyotes in the distance talking to each other. We were treated with a few passes of the International Space Station, which is always fun to see streaking through the sky. I'm looking for to hosting the workshop again three more times this summer. The July session is full but there are some spaces available for night workshops in June and August. Come to Vermont, join the fun and see the universe. |
