Hey Friend,

There’s a couple of news items I wanted to make sure you’re aware of...

First off, the sad.

Jim Dunlop passed away February 7th.

If you’re relatively new to guitar, you might not recognize the name, but you’ve definitely been influenced by his hand.

Jim didn’t make guitars or amplifiers, but when it comes to accessories, he was the innovator everyone else watched. Guitar capos, picks and pedals were his business, and he did his business very well.

Premier Guitar has a nice write-up about Jim and the company that bears his name. Fortunate for us, his son Jimmy carries on the business.

I’d just like to say, there’s a life well lived. Jim did what he loved and impacted the world for the better.

RIP Jim...

If you like Blues, you’re gonna love this!

No doubt you know Joe Bonamassa, that Blues Rocker that’s been wowing the music world since he was a pre-teen.

Joe has started a new show on Sirius XM Radio’s B.B. King’s Bluesville channel 74. You can listen in on Monday nights at 6PM (EST).

The show is called Different Shades of Blue and serves as a guided tour of Blues and the evolution from its start in the 1920s up to today.

Since Rock evolved from early Blues, count on there being some great music featured on the show. You might just get a history lesson, too.

Lastly, if you like eclectic music news, check out Live for Live Music. You’ll find all sorts of interesting happenings and announcements from every genre.

This isn’t news you’re likely to hear on Good Morning America or the Evening News...

This is music news, for music people, regardless of what you like. Rock on!

Peace~

Dave

P.S. If you wanna check out the album that Joe named his Sirius show after, click here.

The track called "Never Give All Your Heart" is VERY tight!
