Hey there Friend,

Wow! I have completely lost track of what day it is...

I just realized it's Friday and I haven't written my weekly music message to you. It can be downright shocking how one little change (or big in my case) in schedule can throw your entire routine out the window.

It's wrenches like these that can mess up the good habits you've established.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I find myself unemployed. I thought I'd have this time to map out my next move and get some things done. There's music to be worked on, guitars to practice, new students to teach and lessons to create. Oh, and look for work as a side note.

Unfortunately, I've been busier this week than I've been in months...

I've fallen victim to the dreaded "Life getting in the way" syndrome, but lucky for you (ha ha) I pulled out of the tailspin in time!

It happens to each one of us. We have plans to do all sorts of cool stuff and then end up digging ourselves out of a snow bank, or dealing with a bank error, or any one of a hundred other annoying problems.

The key is getting back to it as soon as you taken care of business.

Lucky for us, playing guitar is one of those activities that are extremely easy to get back to!

I hope the new year is working out well for you and you have great plans for your guitar skills. Of course, building guitar skills requires practice, and practice requires setting some time aside to actually do it.

If you haven't gotten to the point of dedicating time to practice guitar every day, you should check out the Daily 5 Guitar Habit.

Every day you get a new message with exercises reminding you to pick up your guitar for at least 5 minutes. I cover all sorts of topics, from chords to ear training, scales to music theory, even strumming and guitar hero profiles.

Each day, you'll have an exercise to work on, a video to watch or an article to read - for just 5 minutes a day (unless you want to spend more time).

Best of all, no charge! That's right, the Daily 5 Guitar Habit is free to my subscribers.

To sign up, just click the link and fill in your name and email address. I'll take it from there.

You can get the Daily 5 Guitar Habit right here.

Alright, I should have my head back on straight by next week, so until then, have a great weekend and as always, Rock On!

Peace~

Dave

P.S. - don't forget to sign up for the Daily 5 Guitar Habit for daily reminders to pick up that guitar and play!
