I turned 68 today and I did something different.

I'm giving instead of receiving.

Dear Friend

Every day I wake up I feel blessed to be given another day to do what God created me to do. I counsel people on Teledoc from home and I coach people in person and online. I have been blessed to speak to and train all the Chief Judges in Wisconsin and I share a message every week that is used in churches and Bible schools in Pakistan, India and across the world.

When God first spoke to me in 1976 and told me he had a plan for me and would help me get clean and sober, I started writing down his messages. I wrote poetry and music and journaled my thoughts, struggles and what I heard God speak to me. In 2019 I put 365 of my talks with God in my meditation book and today I decided to celebrate by asking others to give me and other the gifts of sharing what God has given me

SIMPLE WISDOM

STEP 7- Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings

CHALLENGE

When they say that Christianity or the 12 Steps of recovery are simple, some of us may disagree but that is usually because we complicate the foundation they are built on. We think we have to figure things out and we try to become wise in our own eyes. The simple truth is that turning everything over to God is the answer to all of our problems and the beginning of wisdom. When the Bible says “fear the Lord” it is not that we should be afraid of getting close to Him but rather we should fear being without Him. Are we willing to humble ourselves and gain wisdom by being so afraid to go one moment without Him that we are willing to stay close?

HOPE

“Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor.” Proverbs 15:33

PRAYER

God, I admit I do not know what I am doing and I need Your wisdom. Help me to remain humble so I can gain wisdom and Your favor and power.

SPEAK TO ME GOD

My Child,

You have no ability to figure out anything that is going on in your life because you are not omniscient. You do not see the future or all of the factors that go into managing your life. You cannot control what other people do and how it may impact you and it is My job to do damage control that this world does to each other and the earth I have created. You must trust in My ability to give you the wisdom I have promised to give generously to all men who want to know My direction and are willing to do what I have ordained for them. Be steadfast. Don’t give up. Just give in to Me. All will be well and you will know what to do by My Spirit.

RESPONSE

God, as scary and confusing it is at times Lord, I will let go, wait on You and trust You with the results of my life.

Each meditation is packed with layers of Truth that God is using to heal my grieving heart.
