Subject: Studies for Sunday, September 27, 2020 & a personal note
Sunday, September 27, 2020 The True BelieverThis Sunday's readings consider the question: who is truly righteous? The obstinate but obedient? Or the liar and disobedient? word-sunday.com explores the question. apostolic-times.com addresses St. Paul's thesis of the self-emptying Messiah. The Other Shoe DropsTwo months ago, I wrote you about my open heart surgery. But, at that time, I inferred another "personal" issue. I'm now ready to give you details about it. On June 10, I had a hospital visit for a proceedure to place stents in my arteries. That, of course, was unsuccessful and led to my surgery on June 18. At the end of that visit, staff took me down to the CAT (computerized axial tomography) lab for final tests. That's when they found I had a growth in my right kidney. Further tests confirmed the existence of a medium sized (4.5 cm) tumor. Removal would require another surgery. I underwent a laparoscopic robotic partial nephrectomy (its fancy name) on Sept. 4. The surgeon removed it with the least invasive method. I am blessed to have such good care. I came home the following day and now I'm recovering. The surgeon called me when the lab work came back. The tumor contained a low malignancy cancer. He got it all. I don't require treatment. I'll have a CT scan and a chest x-ray in a year as a check up. To say I'm relieved is an understatment. So, the email notices and videos will continue. Thank God!
Please continue to pray for the victims, their families and the front line responders of the corona virus outbreak. And ask God for a successful vaccine. Sunday Scripture Studies
