Artist talk, new exhibition and healthcare for artists

Artist talk with Meira Ahmemulic

22 april at 15.00
Konsthall C

You are warmly welcome to the exhibition To Heal a Country’s closing weekend. We have invited Meira Ahmemulic to talk about her works in the exhibition.

Meira Ahmemulic's work carries stories about heritage, working class, belonging, Swedishness and not least about how language evokes and builds a reality from which it is difficult to protect oneself. But perhaps at the same time it is precisely language that offers a place for resistance?

During the afternoon, we will also see the video work Invasive species (2022), which has not previously been shown in the exhibition. Macarena Dusant, art historian, is invited to talk about the work, from which she has written a text.

New project: Relaxation for artists

Konsthall C

19 April–14 June 2023

We want to invite artists in Hökarängen and beyond to come to Konsthall C and relax together with Hökis HOPE.

The profession of artist is described by many as sometimes challenging and lonely, but it can also be collective and social. Come to us on Wednesdays for joint relaxation together with our neighbors Hökis HOPE. All wellness care is free and you book your place by emailing info@konsthallc.se

We offer fruit and a viewing of our current exhibition after the session.

New exhibition: ANOTHER POSSIBLE INNER EXTERIOR MOMENT TO MOMENT NONLOCATION LOCATION

5-21 May

Participating artists: Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, Xenia Klein and Paula Slav

Opening 5 May at 18.00

Our next exhibition is curated by Andria Nyberg Forshage and Ruby Nilsson.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE INNER EXTERIOR MOMENT TO MOMENT NONLOCATION LOCATION is gathering works by three contemporary artists, international and local, whose work in different ways touch upon trans femininity and trans survival, the exhibition tries to re-imagine trans fem aesthetics, not as an identity category so much as it is a potentially open way of differentiating and undermining gendered categorisation. How can we open up other spaces, virtual and actual–other ways of feeling, encountering, and sensing?

Please be aware that ANOTHER POSSIBLE INNER EXTERIOR MOMENT TO MOMENT NONLOCATION LOCATION has a short exhibition period.

Warmly welcome to our opening on May 5 at 15.00!
