Subject: The folly of Mars One

Hello Friend,

You've probably heard about Mars One.

A dutch based  marketing outfit that wants to establish a Colony on Mars by 2025.

Great idea.

But how you gonna pay for it?

The price tag: 6 billion bucks to be raised through sponsors, private investors and
a reality tv show. (The latter should be a red flag already that this ain't a good idea).

From what I've read, the qualifications for applicants for the trip are minimal.

And apparently, six Canadians are in the running among the 100 finalists.

( Justin Trudeau is not one of them.)

According to former Canadian astronaut, Julie Payette,  "we don't presently have
the technology to go to Mars".

Now I trust Julie,  She know's what she's talking about.

And she's not talking out of her hat.

Sure, eventually we will get to Mars and that will likely be on a commercial basis
according to Payette.

Mars is visible right now, and your best bet is to take a look at it through a telescope.

Clear Skies,

Ray Khan

PS You'll need some good eyepieces to look at Mars through your telescope.   Have you
heard about the New Meade  Mega Wide angle eyepieces with a 100 degree apparent field of view?

     Available in : 5mm, 10mm, 15mm and 21mm focal lengths.
