Subject: The Great Karnak predicts Comet Ison will provide `most satisfactory views`

Hello Friend,

Hopefully you are old enough to remember the late predecessor of Jay Leno`s tonite show,  none other than

late night television, Mr. Johnny Carson himself.

Carson was a great promoter of Science, and also popularized the late, great Carl Sagan as well.

Carson would on occasion bring out his alter ego after his monologue  (Carson would sport a Turban and a Cape, which he usually tripped
and stumbled on as he came out of stage.

The great Karnak would make some remarkable predictions, preceded by this statement by his co^host and straight man,
Ed McMahon:

I hold in my hand the envelopes. As a child of four can plainly see, these envelopes have been hermetically sealed. They've been kept in a #2 mayonnaise jar on Funk and Wagnall's porch since noon today. No one knows the contents of these envelopes, but you, in your borderline divine and mystical way, will ascertain the answers having never before seen the questions."

The great Karnak would then proceed to mystically answer these questions, usually reflecting current events of the time.

Here is an example:

Answer: Comet`Kohutek

Question: Which Comet will  turn out to be the biggest flop  of the last Century?

Now, if the response to the answer was a total flop, and the audience booed, the Great Karnak would respond  with a curse, along the lines of this:

`May the sewers of Rangoon, back up into your kitchen sink`!...

Did you also  know that Johnny Carson was also an amateur astronomer?

Yes, he owned a Celestron 14 inch telescope in an observatory in his backyard.  Very cool!

RIP Johnny, now in that big observatory up in the sky...........

 Clear Skies,

Ray Khan

PS    And speaking of our friends at Celestron, starting today a new promotion for the CPC Series of telescopes has
