Celestron RASA 6 is here. f/2.2, 8.4 lb, $2,360.

The smallest Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph has landed at Khan Scope. This is the fastest optical system we sell. At f/2.2 it gathers light roughly 10× faster than an f/7 refractor, which means a 60-second sub does the work of a 10-minute one. Short subs, forgiving tracking, and in most cases no autoguider.

What it is: a 152mm f/2.2 astrograph with a 335mm focal length and a 3.8° usable field. Camera-only, no eyepiece. It is built for one job: deep-sky imaging, fast. Nebulae, galaxies, big fields, short total integration.

Who it suits: anyone imaging from the city or a short drive out of it. Fast optics plus a dual-band filter in the built-in 2" drawer is the most direct answer to a Bortle 7 sky we know of. Also a good second scope for the imager who already has a long refractor and wants the wide, fast end covered.

Camera match: sensors up to 22mm diagonal, so an ASI533, ASI585 or ASI183 class camera. Back focus with the included M42 adapter is 17.5mm, which is exactly what a ZWO cooled camera needs. It bolts straight on.

RASA 6 on the Advanced VX mount: $3,330 (save $407)

If you do not already own a mount, this is the package. The AVX carries the 8.4 lb RASA with plenty in reserve, and the sale pricing on the bundle is better than buying the two pieces separately. Add a camera and you are imaging.
