And so she started living the life she imagined ...
Friend,
Earlier this month mothers everywhere celebrated Mother's Day. Perhaps you had breakfast in bed, read the paper, received fresh flowers, met for brunch or received a gift that celebrated how special you really are. Whether you're a mom or an earth angel who loves and supports the children in your lives, I hope you enjoyed your special day.

I think most of us would agree that the best thing about Mother's Day is there's no expectation for us to do anything. The day is a clean slate. Plenty of down time. Time for fun. Time to relax. Time to reflect. Time to be. Time.

That's what women really want. Time. Time for ourselves. Time to take a yoga class. Time to read a magazine cover to cover or a book for the pure pleasure of it. Time to try a new recipe. Time to linger over a cup of tea with friends. Time spent in nature. Time to talk. Time to listen. Time to create memories that we'll cherish for a lifetime.

So how do we capture this illusive gift that we treasure above all other things? It's simpler than you think. Read more here ...

Health Corner: How to Get Rid of Mosquitos Naturally

You've probably seen all the bad news about mosquitos and the havoc they're wreaking on human health like the Zika virus and other diseases these pesky pests are transmitting.

If you're a natural gal like me, you probably don't want to trade one bad thing for another. Which means anything that contains DEET is not happening for me. The health issues related to DEET are nearly as bad as the diseases it claims to prevent. Like the fact that it's a neurotoxin.

So what can we do? In our house, we mix up a spray bottle full of witch hazel, peppermint essential oil and geranium essential oil. The combination will provide an all natural barrier that will protect you, and it will also protect your yard for up to 14 days. Make sure to spray under the foliage because that's where the little pests nest. Plus it won't run off if it rains. Summertime just got a little sweeter!
