Hooray! We're into our third week of our Clutter Clean Out progam! We're getting there! Past the kitchen and on to your living spaces. If you still have more to do in the kitchen, stay there for a while longer. Do whatever is going to make your life easier.

In the meantime, are you sharing in the group? Go over to the group and find someone who's done well and congratulate them. Then, look for someone who's struggling a little and offer some support. You're all meeting your true potential in this clean out in different ways.

A reminder; take this challenge one day at a time. Just the fact you’ve signed up to do this is a giant step toward a healthier, less stressful environment for you; whether it’s freeing yourself of junk, having more space, or just lightening your load.

We make progress with small steps. With a lot of small steps, we reach the top. Remember every step counts.

I'm loving your photo shares! Keep sharing your photos in our Facebook group.

If you know someone who'll benefit from this experience, encourage people to sign up for our next Clutter Cleanse which starts on March 19 at http://yourinfinitewellness.com/the-clutter-cleanse/ and you'll be entered to win our next group program!
Day Eight Checklist - Living Room/Family Room
  • Make 36” clearance between furniture for walking
  • Make 11” between sofa and coffee table
  • Clear old knick-knacks that you no longer love, or do not add to your joy
  • Throw away, give away or find a storage place for any unnecessary books, papers, games, or junk in the room.
  • Go back and double and triple check – “are you sure you want to keep it”?
The Living Room

How many of you spend very little time in the living room? This room is the one room in the house that a lot of people spend the most money on expensive, beautiful furniture for entertaining and then never use it for fear of ruining the good furnishings. How silly is that? This room should be for living. It usually has the best views and the most beautiful architecture. Why have such a beautiful space and not use it?

A well-organized living room can be used every day if we design it for living rather than as a showplace. If your house is casual, then your living room should reflect the same casual style. If the rest of your house is formal and you are very comfortable in elegant surroundings, then your living room should be formal too.

The most important considerations in designing your living room are; furniture that is functional, art and collections displayed and easy entertaining features. The living room is no place for clutter.

Guidelines:

#1 - Unused for 2 Years - Donate or sell

#2 - Broken - Throw away

#3 - Not Yours - Return

#4 - Unsightly or doesn't fit - Throw away, donate or sell

#5 - Still love it - Re-purpose or reuse it
