It's been a while Friend! I hope the summer treated you well. It was a tremendously busy Summer for us both via business and politically.
We have been busy building the property management portfolio and building our development pipeline. I'm happy to say that Onpoint Real Estate has over 450+ units in our pipeline. Projects range from affordable home ownership to workforce housing. Similarly, we have been on the front lines of the Opportunity Zones discussion. (See below). I was asked by the national organization, Urban Institute to join the Opportunity Zone discussion as a panelist in Seattle, WA, USA. We are working on not only using the OZ designation to develop real estate but we hope to shine light on making sure our communities can participate and benefit from the investor side. Our mission is to build wealth, so doesn't make sense to allow communities to invest in their own designated opportunity zones? We have a couple exciting projects where we are modeling what that looks like.
You'll see (below) we carved out time to engage a little bit more politically. It was quite the summer. We assisted the Governor in his bid for the Presidency of the United States. We learned a lot, created access for our community to the Governor and helped him get the donor amount needed to get on the debate stage. And although he decided to halt his campaign, it was a pleasure to be part of a Presidential campaign, however big or small. WE DID THAT!

Supporting Washington State Governor - Jay Inslee's run for President of the United States of America
It's all about access! If you were there, than you know what I'm talking about - an event to remember! We had over 200+ people who showed up on a hot summer Seattle day 46 stories in the sky to hear what our Governor had on his agenda for his bid for the office of the Presidency of the United States.
The community came together and we raised over $15,000 for the Governor's campaign. More importantly we were able add to the 130,000 donors needed for Inslee to continue on and join the debate stage. Although, he dropped out of the race he was able to put a lot of important social issues on the national platform.
