Planned mixed-income development to pay homage to church and Central District
July 1st, 2021---GardnerGlobal, Inc (GGI) has partnered with local real estate advisory and investment firm Heartland LLC (Heartland) to purchase the Mt. Calvary Christian Center located at 1412 23rd Ave. in Seattle’s historic Central District neighborhood.
The team has plans to develop a 7-story building that will have a mix of affordable, workforce, market-rate and artists work/live lofts.
The project will pay homage to the long-standing African-American church and Central District neighborhood by including various artisan works throughout the building that blends both the history of African-American churches along with contemporary tech and sustainable design. The development team includes Heartland, GardnerGlobal, Inc., Third Place Design, a Seattle-based women-owned Co-op architecture firm, Chris Coleman, a local artist who will serve as Project Art Curator, Perkins Coie, HCMP, and Capital Suisse.
