GARDNERGLOBAL, INC MOVES FORWARD WITH PLANS TO ACQUIRE AND REDEVELOP LAND IN THE CENTRAL DISTRICT NEIGHBORHOOD OF SEATTLE, WA, USA
Contending Gentrification in Seattle’s Central District
January 13th, 2020---GardnerGlobal, Inc is under contract to purchase a portion of property owned by Mt. Calvary Christian Center located at 1429 23rd Ave. in Seattle’s historic Central District neighborhood. Onpoint Real Estate will take lead as the developers on a proposed Six-story, 64+unit multifamily housing project mixed with market rate and affordable units along with intentional community space.
The project will pay homage to the long standing African-American church and Central District neighborhood by naming the project, "23Calvary", and by including various artisan works throughout the building that blends both the history of African-American churches along with contemporary tech and sustainable design. Onpoint Real Estate plans to expand their brokerage offices in the building providing the community boutique real estate and property management services.
The initial development team includes Onpoint Real Estate as project developers, Third Place Design, a Seattle based women owned Co-op architecture firm, Arts One who will serve as Project Art Curator, Perkins Coie and Capital Suisse.
