Subject: Sean Bowen: How to Profit from the Maestro

Hello Friend

I hope you're having a great week. Before I get onto today's main offering, which if you like your trainer/jockey stats you're sure to enjoy, just a quick thanks to those of you who got in touch after my last email.

It appears the Paddy Power Gold Cup stats & trends helped a few of you land on Midnight Shadow, which is what it's all about. A few decent placed efforts in behind from shortlisted horses also. It looks as though Nicholls will win something with Lalor, and I was impressed with Galahad's Quest in behind. Inexperienced in a field like that, outpaced at times on ground far too lively, he powered up the hill. He has a very similar profile to the yards Coo Star Sivola and I wonder if they may pencil in The Ultima at The Festival, if he proves he stays 24/25f beforehand. In any case, he has a nice handicap pot in him somewhere when the mud's flying, and this year's renewal could well be worth following.

The eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed that our Racing To Profit Syndicate horse, Mercian Knight, ran at Plumpton on Monday. Well, sort of ran. Sadly at the moment he's giving the impression he doesn't want to be a racehorse, which isn't ideal! There's plenty of pondering for us to do. Something must be bothering him, either physically or mentally, unless he just wants a change of career. Time will tell. For all we won't be giving up on him just yet.

Going racing with like minded racing fans is obviously a positive, and the gang above (no, it's not a boyband) had a great time (I'm 2nd right), as well as one other not in the pic. They backed a few winners between them. It includes such luminaries as Darren B (OLBGs tipping comp manager) and Darran P (Hunter Chase/non league football expert, who some of you may follow on twitter no doubt) Great lads, and great fun. The big lad, and Jamie Moore, came back in one piece which is the main thing, and we move on. Our unraced/as yet named filly is doing very well at home and we're all getting excited about her. She should hit the track in January and I'm dreaming of the Mares Listed bumper at Aintree on Grand National Day - it's a game for dreamers after all.

Moving on...

Below you can find a ‘feature length’ video looking at jockey Sean Bowen. In it I start with a ‘micro system’ of interest within HorseRaceBase. You’re free to note this down and then stop watching if you please!

However, I then have a look at some top level stats of his including his record at certain tracks, and with certain trainers. I then dive over to Geegeez Gold ‘Query Tool’ with a look at how he fares against all UK jockeys when riding over fences, including a look at his stats on front runners. I then switch back to HRB with a look at the ‘micro system’ in more depth and how I researched it. Including digging into the angle with a further look at trainers and tracks.

So, plenty to get stuck into. I cover plenty of ground and with any luck I say something mildly interesting! Do watch with a notepad, you can pause it in places, and use the content/my musings in any way you please. As always if you’ve any questions, do fire away down below.

For now, popcorn at the ready… 🙂

That's all for today,
All the best,

Josh
