Subject: Free tips for the footy season inside & a jockey to note

Hello Friend

Something for the football fans out there today, some free tips you can sign up for but also some 'top goals-scorer' bets/previews to flick through down below which may be of interest.

Before that, the horses...

Yesterday's Flat Pointers i sent you didn't do too badly, the horses 'in bold' finishing UP, UP 12/1 (4th, extra places), Won (4s), 3rd (16s), 3rd (7s). Consistent enough and a few of those stats will churn out winners in the future, but we move on.

Not much today, a few musings in the members' post but I thought i'd flag a jockey to keep an eye on. I added some chat around 'Wrenthorpe' who was running at Thirsk but now a non-runner, but here's what I've written about his jockey...

Gianluca Sanna , 7lb claimer, attached to Bryan Smart’s yard… he can clearly ride. He gave one a belter at Beverley yesterday in the last, he blasted off and I was thinking surely he’s gone too hard, he’s got a breather in somewhere and still kept enough up his sleeve to see them off late on. He’s now 5/20, 8p +19 SP... and i’d go as far to say that while he’s got his 7lb claim, you could consider backing them all for fun, as I suspect the odd one may fly in at a price also, and he’s proved himself very good on the front end. He’s 2/5,4p for his boss, +4.

He's one to keep an eye on in the next few weeks given those stats/his record to date and is the sort who may keep flying under the radar.

Football...

I know it hasn’t been long since the Euros finished, but I’m looking forward to watching a few more Liverpool games again and this year I'm going to make more effort to watch my hometown club, the mighty Mildenhall Town FC

With the Premier League returning tomorrow, we won’t have long to wait for top class action though.

Below you can find some thoughts from Lee on the Top Goalscorer Market...

Lee@Free Footy Tips - Premier League Top Goalscorer Market 2021/22

The Premier League Golden Boot is a hugely coveted prize and the winner of each
of the last three seasons has scored either 22 or 23 goals across the course of the
campaign. Harry Kane came out on top last season and following on from a decent
Euro 2020, he will be keen to make it back-to-back triumphs.

Mo Salah notched 32 times during the 2017-18 campaign and although he endured
a disappointing season last time out (by his own high standards), he still managed
to find the net 22 times.

I’ve taken a look at some of the contenders and picked out some value bets in the
market.

Harry Kane

The striker has secured the golden boot in three of the last six seasons and he is
always a reliable source of goals. He has understandably been priced up as the
favourite, however, there are couple of reasons why he may be worth avoiding in this
market. His rumoured move to Man City is yet to be completed, and there’s no
guarantee that he will settle into his surroundings straight away. He is also reportedly
set to miss the first couple of games of the season due to fatigue following a decent
Euro 2020. Kane sometimes take a while to find his groove, and with his future
uncertain, this could be potentially disruptive.

Nevertheless, Kane is an astute operator and terrific footballer. However, at around
3/1, he is simply too short in the betting.

Mo Salah

The Liverpool striker is second favourite in the betting and despite the Reds’
struggles last season, the Egyptian still managed to find the net 22 times. Like Kane,
Salah is likely to be on penalty duty and with his club playing their fast-paced style, it
is likely to lead to plenty of spot-kicks throughout the course of the campaign.
There’s no reason why Salah can’t go close, but there’s very little value at the price.

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling was pretty handy in front of goal at Euro 2020 and he always chips
in with plenty of goals for Man City. However, his position can vary and he is unlikely
to play the entire season as a striker. Sterling is an excellent operator, however, he
always tends to finish somewhere between fourth and seventh in the final standings.

Lee@Free Footy Tips – Top Goalscorer Tips 2021/22

Kai Havertz

It’s fair to say that both Kai Havertz and Timo Werner had hugely underwhelming
first seasons in the Premier League. Despite this, there were signs that both were
finally finding their feet towards the end of the campaign. With Thomas Tuchel
remaining in charge this year, both have the chance to justify their price tags, and it
would be hugely unfair to write either of them off.

Havertz, in particular, looked sharp at Euro 2020 and scored the winning goal in the
Champions League final back in May. There were positive signs that he was
beginning to find his feet and with the Blues expected to go well under the aforementioned Tuchel this season, Havertz is likely to play a key role.

In addition to this, he’s also young enough to develop and improve his game throughout the course of the next nine months. At around 50/1, he’s worth chancing from an each-way perspective.

Kelechi Iheanacho

Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho scored 16 times last season, however, he didn’t notch
his first until February 3rd.

The striker went on an amazing late-season run which saw him score eight in nine appearances between the start of March and the end of April.

Although the Nigerian was only used as a replacement for injured players, he is likely to have played himself firmly into contention, and he is likely to get plenty of chances per 90 minutes. Leicester are blessed with plenty of creative players and they will fancy their chances of securing a top four finish. If Iheanacho can knuckle down and build on his superb start to 2021, he should be able to trouble the top goalscoring charts. With 21 goals in 44 appearances since signing for the Foxes (PL only), he definitely has the ability to outrun his price of 50/1

Raul Jimenez

Raul Jimenez’s 2020-21 campaign was abruptly ended by a horrific injury, however, the Mexican is back and he will be hungry to make up for lost time. Wolves were underwhelming last season and whilst their problems ran deeper than a lack of an out-and-out goalscorer, his presence certainly helps them in the final third.

During the 2019-20 campaign, Jimenez netted 27 times across all competitions (17
in the PL) and if new manager Bruno Lage can his side purring in the final third, then
Jimenez should certainly be a regular goalscorer this season.

His prices range from 33-1 to 66-1 and he certainly seems worth a second glance.
