Subject: Flat Profiles: Qualifiers 26/08/15

Hello Friend

3.30 Muss La Bacouetteuse

Ideal Cond. Muss, C5 or below, OR70 or below

Form in Cond. 3,2,7,1,1,9,3,1,3,5,5,1,1 4, 8, 3 (4/33, 9 places outside)

Positives. Has his conditions again and won last time out at Ripon. All race conditions are fine and I see no reason why he wont run his race again. He is clearly tricky and a lot needs to drop right.

Negatives. Jockey bookings are interesting and we have a very inexperienced one on top, claiming 7lbs and having their 5th career ride. They have placed once from those 4 rides to date. He also has a better fancied stable mate to take on here too.

My Verdict. 1 point win 9/2. There are pros and cons to this one but the race conditions are fine and I see no reason why he wont run his race. The inexperience of his jockey may prove crucial at some point but I will take that chance. He should be staying on near the end again.

5.15 Catt Imperial Legend

Ideal Cond. July, August, September; 5f; OR80 or below; Class 4<£6k

Form in Cond. 6,13,4,1,1,1,1,2,4,3,1,2 13,4,8 (0/29,6 places outside)

Positives. Has his conditions again and most of the race conditions are fine.

Negatives. Well there are a few. He has been underwhelming of late at a time of year he usually sparks into life, and his losing run now stretches back some way. He is 0/7, 1 place on Soft or Heavy, although that place was a neck defeat. He is 0/3, 0 places in handicaps at the track and now 0/11, 0 places when bigger than 12/1 (currently 16/1)

My Verdict. 1/2 point win 16/1. I want to say no bet I think, but I am reminded of similar decision with a horse that went on to win. He has been drawn wide in  a few of those recent runs, although they have been poor. He has nearly won in soft and is down to a very good mark. It is tricky, I part expect a poor performance but at the back of the mind is that a big run from nowhere wouldn't be a total shock. It could be wise to wait and see if he is backed into 12s or below. As ever you don't have to listen to my advice!

5.15 Catt Keep It Dark

Ideal Cond. 1-15 Days, 11 runners or fewer, OR80 or below

Form in Cond. 1,5,2,5,1,1,6,1,8 , 6,6 (0/24, 7 places outside)

Positives. He has his conditions again and is fine in all race conditions. Soft is no problem and he is 1/2 over CD. He is handicapped to go in again at some point.

Negatives. Well he is a bit of a character who has his own views on the game from time to time. He does like to race alone and clearly has two ways of running.

My verdict. 1 point win 12/1. Race conditions are fine and all wins have been when 12/1 or under. (0/10, 2 places above this, so any drift a concern).
