Subject: Flat Profiles: Qualifiers 19/06/15

Hello Friend

19/06/15

4.05 Redcard Ingleby Angel

Ideal Cond. Redcar or Thirsk, OR90 or below as guide

Form in Cond. 2,1,1,3,1,1,3,6,1,1, (2/26, 4 places outside)

Poistives. He has his conditions. He is 4/6 at Redcar and is 2/3 over CD. All other conditions are fine and he is 1/1 with this jockey. His rating is interesting. OR90 is really a guide as he did improve rapidly. His last win, in 2013, was off OR90 but with a 5lb claim. However last season he very nearly won at C2 off OR96 and OR95, suggesting that his mark today of OR90 should not be a barrier. However, technically he has yet to win from a mark above OR85 after the claim is taken into account. Regardless of that you could make a case to back him simply due to his course form.

Negatives. Well his last two runs have been poor however the first was after a break. There was no real excuse for the second and it may have just been an off day.

My Verdict. 1 point win 11/2 (general) His position in the market would suggest a better run is expected and while the fav is clearly going to go well (the race he won is working out well and he is progressive) and may win, given his liking for this track he is worth chancing. If he is going to bounce back it will be here and the price is more than fair. It could be that it has taken him a couple of runs to get right.

5.20 Redcar Broctune Papa Gio

Ideal Cond. Redcar; 7f/8f; Class 5 or below; OR67 or below; Good or better

Form in Cond. 2,1,1,1,2,2,1,5,4,1 2 (1/33, 9 places)

Positives. He has his conditions again at his favourite course and very nearly won for us at 20/1 on his last run. Maybe that was his chance but he ran another solid race at Newcastle and while he has crept up a couple of pounds there is no reason to think he wont run his race again. He looks to have another solid chance in what is a poor race.

Negatives. Well he keeps finding one or two too good but at some point one of his consistent runs at this track will be enough to win given the level he competes at.

My Verdict. 1 point win 8/1 (general). He should run another solid race and there are no excuses for the race conditions that I can see. Hopefully a repeat of his last run here may be good enough. He has won under this jockey as well (1/5, 2 places).
