Subject: Cork National Tips/Freebie/How to lose £2650

Hello Friend

Three things today so i'll jump to it, including a bit about my racing journey...

1. I've had a look at 3.15 -The Cork National, and tipped The Gatechecker 1 point EW 10/1, 4 places. You can read my preview HERE>>>, inc the stats/trends shortlist

2. I think 700 or so of you have had a read of my new Trainer Track Profiles stats pack. If you missed that you can read it HERE>>> (includes two 'off the shelf' strategies you can follow that will hopefully pay their way in the months ahead)

3. How to lose £2650...

As you no doubt know, I've been sharing my thoughts on all things horse racing since 2013, on my blog racingtoprofit.co.uk. (RTP) From humble beginnings it's become a vibrant community of racing enthusiasts who like nothing more than backing decent priced winners and having some fun. (we back plenty of losers too, but long term profit is the aim) :)

I thought i'd touch on my racing journey, as it didn't start that well and some of you may relate to it.

Aged 18 and in my first year at The University of Liverpool I joined a tipping service. Maybe I was a tad bewildered being in a big city, having grown up in a small Suffolk town, not far from Newmarket.

Pay £650 for access. Receive daily text. Bet on horses. Easy.

Win?

Not quite.

Over the next 9 months I would lose £2650.

I’d blow the recommended 100-point bank and max out two student over-drafts. (i'm not sure that was legal) For the 3 years that followed I’d forever be a pound or two away from a penalty charge.

What a naïve, greedy fool I’d been. And reckless with it. (you get what you deserve when diving in at £20 per point, unprepared to lose your bank!)

That was my introduction to betting on horses. And I thought £650 for a year's access to tips was the going rate!

It turns out you’re best not trusting glossy brochures sent through the door, following a google search and a request for further information. Who knew?!

Some of you will be reading this with a wry smile. I don’t blame you. Many of my friends still can’t resist taking the p*ss about those days and my optimism that i'd win thousands.

Sadly, it wasn’t that easy. I thought it could be. I’d have to grow up, work harder, and put my brain to some use.

Many of you will be reading this with a grimace, having had a similar experience.

Losing on the horses isn’t much fun is it? Constantly losing is even worse.

The pain of backing loser after loser, bank accounts depleted and general grumpiness, especially when everyone else seems to be winning ALL the time! (they're not) Moaning at every losing ride, every photo lost, every final flight blunder.

That’s no way to enjoy this sport.

And all we want is to pick a few horses, cheer a few decent priced winners, solve the odd puzzle and over time, win some money. A nice profit that we may spend on a holiday in the sun, a few fancy meals out or to top up the wages or the pension.

I've now learnt that winning on the horses is possible and there’s so much fun to be had, together.

Now aged 29, and after many years of racing ‘education’, I’m now a confident punter and I’ve never enjoyed the sport more. Of course i'm still learning every day. You never stop in this game, and you never stop making mistakes, or experiencing losing runs. My first year at University and that horrible experience is now a distant memory, but one that keeps me on my toes.

I've had some help along the way. After losing all that cash, I decided to swot up and buy a few books, and I was lucky to stumble across a few decent blogs. Nick Mordin's Betting For A Living was my first racing bible I read. Brilliant book.

I found Matt B and Geegeez, Gavin Priestley and Ben Aitken's blog. Those three combined would kick start my interest in trainer stats, systems and help me learn about reading a race etc.

And so, in time, I’ve learnt that winning at horse racing isn’t impossible; and that it can be bloody good fun. It isn't easy, and you have to enjoy the sport, the people and the animals first and foremost I think. And you've got to enjoy wanting to solve the puzzle, and we have plenty of those to attack every day. That's what gets you through the losing runs.

Next week i'll show you what's made my punting successful and how what I do in my members' club has transformed my betting and results long term, as well as giving me the opportunity to profit and learn from many of my shrewd members' who post regularly.

My approach is a mix of profitable systems/strategies based on that free report above, tipping, especially the big races/festivals, unique stats research and much more, including the vibrant community, who must include some of the best tipsters in racing! And they're all recreational punters like us.

So, you have that to look forward to :) Many of you reading this have been on my list for some time I suspect and may have even tried my members' club before.

But, with my new Winter Season Ticket and a full 60 day money back guarantee, now could be a good time to dip your toe in again, as the approach has never been better.

(it works out at around £4.90 a week i think, and you can join around 380 others who enjoy my approach/the community, many of whom have been with me from the beginning of the members' club, which is now just two years old)

I will try and bring it to life with a video or two.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Josh

p.s tomorrow we should have the second article from Adam Norman and his Little Black Book of horses to follow.
