Subject: 🟢🏇 Today's Horses & Stats of Interest [Inc Video]

Good Morning, Friend

This week's 'seconditis' continued yesterday with x3 of my x7 pokes finishing runner up, urgh! A shame Tom couldn't sit Ernes Valentine a bit closer to the pace as hoped, that may have cost him but maybe the horse doesn't have that in his locker and just needs a lot of pace to aim at and everything to fall right, as is always the case for hold up types. Bird of Play may have done a bit too much on the front but maybe on the wrong part of the course also, the winner showing a fine attitude the sod! Guilt Edge just looks out of form but she'll pop up at some point given her falling mark and ability to win. Cheeky Blimey had me excited for a time, last off the bridle, running well, a bit green, will come on for it no doubt, one for next time maybe. That maiden could be worth keeping an eye on, Amy's ran well and I suspect won't be far away on his next start.

We move on...

I've recorded an 'over the shoulder' video for today's racing, using Geegeez Gold and touching on some aspects of my approach, including flagging a few trainer / jockey stats of interest that are worth noting down, if that's your thing.

Hopefully it's worth watching even after today's racing has finished.

As always I wanted it to be 10 minutes and it's ended up 24 minutes, such is life! Do use the 'settings cog' in the bottom right hand corner to increase the 'playback' speed, if I'm droning on too slowly for you!

In the video I touch on four main horses of interest for today, and we'll see how they go:-

  • 4.35 Notts: Bashful Boy 3/1 (jockey course stats the way in, other rides today also)

  • 5.37 Ripon: Alghalib 5/1 (bit weak in market, but Fahey/Ripon/2YO stats are very good, as they are when David Nolan rides for him here, video worth watching to note all those down)

  • 5.45 Notts: Codswallop 7/1 (a 'profile' horse of sorts, back to scene of his one turf win which was also last June, back on GF, 4lb below last win, winning jockey back on, should race on the pace etc)

  • 8.25 Kempton: Enthrallment 14/1 (now 10s, hopefully a good sign... this one mainly about the trainer/jockey combo stats at the course, but also Benoit's track record which is very good - he's got x4 rides here today. De Foy does well with stable newcomers also etc, again, stats worth absorbing more generally)

Do take a look at those horses/races yourselves if you have time, and see what you think.

Good luck with any bets,

All the best,

Josh

p.s With any luck I say something useful in the video to help with your own punting, even if just noting down the odd stat. You can watch it HERE >>>
