Subject: 🏇 Sat's Big Race Trends & Friday's Pointers

Good Morning, Friend

I'll jump straight to it...

Sat ITV Big Race Trends : Read HERE >>>

It's not the best Saturday for trends, but some mild pointers of interest for two big handicaps from Ascot and Haydock, including the 'trainers' list. I'll have a look at both races later today where I'll be hoping to build on last week's 2nd and 5th at Chester. Both ran well and I was excited for my double figure Charlie Hills poke, until I clocked just how well the eventual winner was going on the inside, a shame it opened up for him!

Sam Darby's Free Tips Friday: READ HERE>>>

Unfortunately Sam's pick in the 4.10 Ascot, Pearle D'Or, is a NR, the other two on his shortlist being United Approach and Look Back Smiling, who still run. Still, you may find the preview a useful read.

Today's Stats Starting Points below... taken from the free Telegram group... remember, these are NOT 'tips' to back blind, more a useful 'way in' helping save time, add some focus and a solid foundation on which to look further if you so wish...

A few winners flagged yesterday, including at 9/1 or so...

*

James Owen...has done very well since taking out his rules license, prev point to points and former champion Arab horse trainer, operating 17% all runners in last year, 70/415, -24 SP.

He's hit another solid patch, 5/19,6p in last 14 days, +10. A fair chunk of runners next few days, inc today (5.20 A, 7pm & 8.30pm K)

He's used S D Bowen and his claim to good effect, 14/49,23p, +29 in last year, they're 5/8 in last 14 days. Team up 8.30 K

*

H J Evans and Joe Leavy team up again, 9s/10s winner yest after being flagged. 4/6 now last 30 days and generally worth noting when trainer books Joe. 1.25 Haydock.

*

Conrad Allen the sort of trainer who can slip under the radar, but string in fine form. 17/106, 37p +39 all runners last year, 3/7 last 14 days. Couple runners Kempton today (9pm) and tomorrow (4.20), doesn't have loads of runners but a trainer to keep an eye on in coming week.

His Kempton runner today, 9pm, Hiatus. does well with Darragh K onboard, 3/5 together last 14 days. Whatever the horse does here, worth tracking, mark looks workable/more progress to come, won when last seen, 115 days ago, in a race where 2nd/3rd have since won 7 between them, strong form for grade.

*

Jamie Snowden and his stable #1 Gavin Sheehan, in solid summer jumping form, 3/6 last 14 days, +13. A combo which is never a bad 'way in', Jamie very consistent in last year, 19% sr. Team up 4.30 Bangor.

Likely runners at Font, NA and Worc in coming days.

*

To Ireland, 7.20 Kilb, Supreme Ruler...2nd reserve so may not get in but with noting Barry Connell does well with his NHF ammo, 6/12, 8p +17 with such runners last 2 years. All his evidently worth noting in NHF races.

*

Grant Tuer, don't forget to keep his runners in check in coming days, very well backed winner at top of market yesterday who made morning odds look value, 6/13,10p +28 last 14 days. Suspect he's got a few well handicapped ones for autumn. Appear in rude health. A runner 4.20 Hayd today.

*

Brian Ellison, remains in solid form, 5/16, 7p +11 last 14 days, all winners ridden by Ben Robinson, 5/11,7p +16 in that time.

Team up 3.45 Hayd, Hardy Boy. So so Irish career but has peak rating 123 over sticks, won a novice hurdle with 127 RPR. Brian has clearly handicapped him now on the flat, runs off 70 here, in theory 'could' make that look lenient at some stage. Horse moves up to 1m6f, bit of a freshen up. Interesting, although always chance just doesn't have the pace for the flat, but one to keep an eye on today and next few starts. Could be needs even further.

Brian also has jumps runners at Bangor today, 3.20, 3.55, 5.05.

*

Tom Clover, flagged yesterday, big priced place horse, 5/12,9p last 14 days, +13. Did have a runner Ascot now NR, other one 5.55 Kemp, could be last run for a mark, but is AW debut and related to AW winners.

He's got x4 runners tomorrow across Hayd (3pm x2), Kempton (4.20) and Thirsk (4.25)

*

Ed Walker stats again, in solid form... at Ascot Saffie takes some rides, ground testing now though, 3/9, 4p +20 last 30 days, 2/5,3p last 14. Team up 3.35 and 4.45.

They do well at Ascot together also, 7/22, 11p, +32.

Ed also has a couple of runners up at Haydock 1.25 and 4.55.

Tom Marquand rides both and when riding for Ed at Haydock, 5/18, 8p, +23. Worth noting.

4.55 runner makes handicap debut, with such runners at Haydock, Ed is 3/13,5p, +1. Made encouraging debut run here 3 starts back in race working out well.

*

O'Meara/Tudhope struck with first runner yest after being flagged, 4/12,6p last 14 days now together, 5/17, 8p +33 at Haydock last 5 years. Team up 3.45 and 4.20.

*

That's all for today's stats starting points, a few to muse over there, hopefully a few more winners (and losers of course) and some of you land on the right ones 🙏

All the best and thanks for reading,

Josh
