Subject: 🏇 Newmarket 'Through The Card' Inside

Good afternoon, Friend

We were happy with Via Electriano yesterday, a running on 3rd at 17/2, another place to add to our collection - we do like a 2nd and 3rd in our colours! They'll start converting to more winners at some stage. We expected a big run. She hit the odd ridge at Nottingham which threw her a bit, as she's got a low action and Amy thought she may have been remembering Brighton a bit through the race, where she did hurt herself - but when she realised all was fine, and hit some flatter turf, she flew. We may now send her to France, where you can pick up 15-30k for winning a maiden and some decent placed money also. That could be fun!

Urban Sprawl ran flat yesterday, the first runner from my Ascot eye-catchers - no surprise there, travelling well, finding sod all when asked - he did have a tough race at Ascot and he must have been feeling it, maybe ground on the soft side also. They'll freshen him up and he could be a bigger price next time...

I'm off to Newmarket races this evening, Bastille playing afterwards, and thankfully it's a competitive card. Below there's a 'through the card' with my horses of interest. I've recorded a 20 minute video flick through also (click the big image above), which if you like the odd pace map and micro angle to note (one for Charlie Hills, a TJC to watch, a jockey who rides the course well etc) then do give it a watch.

Before that...

Sam Darby's 'Free Tips Friday' post will go up at 8pm this evening in the usual place, looking ahead to the big handicap on Saturday.

To Newmarket July Course -

In future I'll endeavour to get these out by 6pm the evening before racing but yesterday was a bit manic, as was this morning, and we are where we are, apols...

My pins have landed on...

17.15 - Looby - 4/1

17.50 - Ragosina - 13/2

18.25 - Fleurir - 7/2 (was 6/1, urgh)

19.00 - Le Reveur - 5/1 | Cabinet of Clowns 7/1

19.35 - In These Shoes - 3/1

20.10 - Jumbeau - 9/2

20.45 - Peace Man - 7/2

My main three from that pile, at the odds/subjective value assessment, in order of preference... Jumbeau, Le Reveur and Ragosina. Obviously I hope they all win, but just two would be solid.

We will see how they get on. If you'd like to know about my thinking, logic and the odd stat etc, you can watch my video run-through HERE >>> (and by clicking the image at the top of the email)

That's all for today.

Our Sir Canford runs at Uttoxeter on Sunday in the last race on the card, trained by Dr Richard Newland. Do cheer him on. He will come on a fair bit for his last run and we're hopeful of him being competitive, for all some in-form opposition. Fingers crossed.

Have a great weekend, and don't forget to stop by the blog later and read Sam's latest preview, (HERE>>>)

All the best,

Josh
