Subject: 🏇🟢 [New Jumps Horse] Become a racehorse owner today...

Good Afternoon, Friend

New Northern Jumps Horse: Littletown Lad

I hope this email finds you in good form. This is your chance to experience the exhilarating thrill of racehorse ownership with a syndicate you can trust...

Over at our Racing To Profit Syndicate, We have a new young jumps horse for sale, Littletown Lad, to be trained by Sam England in Yorkshire.

This is your chance to join our growing community of 190 owners, across our 15 horses.

Our time with Tom Creen, trained by Sam, recently came to an end, a horse we leased for the winter season, and who did us proud. He's 10YO, raced seven times, all great days out, winning once, a couple of exciting placed efforts, posting three career best Racing Post Ratings and winning from a career high. He's some testament to the skills of 'Team England' (Sam, husband/jockey Jonny, and their staff),

However, in this game there's no time for looking backwards or standing still, and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to share a new horse with you, whereby we hope to secure enough support so that RTPS can own 100% outright, and continue our two horse association with 'Team England', a yard where in time we'd happily have a whole barn, such is our admiration for them and their operation - especially with chasers, where they've maintained a 16% win SR, 18% in recent seasons.

They get the best out of every horse in their stable and we can't wait to have another there...

Background/Form

In part this new signing is all about 'in Jonny England we trust', (and we do!), who's ridden him the last twice in NHF races, reports him to have an engine, likes what he feels, knows there's so much more to come as he grows up, settles, learns to be a racehorse and when they get to work on him after his holiday. Jonny is a fine judge and couldn't wait to get a deal done when he was made aware the horse was for sale, with no owners lined up, he just couldn't miss out at the price.

The real 'edge' here of course is Jonny, the fact he's ridden him, likes him, and is confident in his ability to win races in time.

With Tom Creen having finished for the season and maybe with us full stop, Sam kindly offered RTPS the first opportunity to syndicate him. We all work well together and are thankful for the opportunity. The horse was owned by part of the 'Bewley' family, primarily PtP trainers, and those that run are there to be sold, but when a horse isn't Top 2 on their first two/three starts, it can be a case of taking what you can get, as it's soon time to buy the next lot of 3YO stores and go again. It's similar to how we've secured a couple of recent bargains in Buzz Iceclear and Pounds At The Time, and the need to sell, (with public auctions often not an option), gives us all an opportunity. This horse looks like another bargain.

The horse started in a Point To Point bumper (flat race), where he ran a fine 3rd on debut, looking green late on, beaten just 2L. The winner hasn't run since, but the 2nd, Kdeux Saint Fray, sold for £48k not long after to Anthony Honeyball, won an Ascot bumper on his rules debut, hacked up in a maiden hurdle and was last seen running a decent 2nd in a solid looking novice hurdle, beaten by a 122 rated horse.

Littletown Lad made his rules debut at Ayr in Jan after 276 days off, pulling far too hard on very soft ground, but moving well to the top of the straight, before tiring. He's a raw horse, bit of a big baby, and returned after another short break, waiting for better ground, on 5th April, Jonny riding him again, attempting to make all - he ran very well, and at one stage looked like he may pull away, getting all bar one horse off the bridle after 2f out, but didn't have the gears to stretch them, having also pulled again. However, he was only beaten 5 1/2 lengths at the line, and I really liked how he responded to pressure when Jonny asked him, stuck his head down, and kept galloping. Had he dropped out at that point and gone backwards, you may have had the odd question, but it was evidence of a fine attitude and a will to compete. Given how he over-raced again, a sign of ability to keep in there pitching.

You can watch that run here: https://www.attheraces.com/atrplayer-popout/VOD/1497790?showResult=yes

In our view, any horse going to 'The England's' is often a big trainer upgrade, and it could be argued to be the case here. Littletown Lad officially moved to Daragh Bourke's under rules, who's 1/80,15p with his jumps runners since the start of 2024, 1/99,15p with all his jumps runners in 'non-handicaps'.

As you can see from the photo above, taken when he first arrived at Sam's, he's got some size about him. a deep chest, and a frame to strengthen into. He looks a bit light there and lacking condition, and already looked like a different horse just a week later when Jonny recorded the video here:. https://youtube.com/shorts/Im5a2ohLSpA?si=eKJYGKBCBr8SqXoK

Breeding

You can find his page here: https://secure.tattersalls.ie/cat/july/2023/499.pdf

His dam, Littletown Lass, knew where the winning post was, with a bumper and hurdle win to her name, and placed efforts over fences. Her sire is High-Rise, and he's done well as a 'damsire', including the likes of Bushypark.

His sire is Casamento, who's done fairly well as a jumps sire, but who the team know well via their Kinondo Kwetu. We can dream of our lad being that good in time. Not many Casamento's have gone chasing as yet but they tend to do well when they do, now 12/57, 20p, a 21% SR, all runners over fences. KK responsible for a few of those wins of course. This lad does look like a future chaser but much fun to be had over hurdles first.

The Plan/conditions

As with the majority of our jumps horses, we like to buy them near the start of their racing life, often with some evidence they can take their training and race, but in the expectation they should keep improving for seasons to come, and as they go from hurdles to fences in time. We like to go on a journey with our horses, a few seasons before we may know where their ceiling lies, a 'could be anything' sort we can dream about.

Littletown Lad is now in a field putting on condition having been on the go for some time - he looked a bit 'light' when he turned up at Sam's, and will no doubt thrive for a few weeks off, and once returned to training from 1st July, where he'll no doubt thrive for Sam's training system and approach. Jonny will get to work on the gallops, moulding him into the best he can be. He's only a 5YO with bundles of physical improvement to come, as well as developing his racing brain.

It will be a case of tuning him up for September/October time where the plan would be to handicap him asap over 2m, no doubt helping his racing education even further, before stepping him up in trip once he has a handicap mark. It's never best assuming what a horse may want/need, but he looks like he'll stay at least 2m4f, and as he matures, who knows after that, he could develop into a stayer, mixed messages on the breeding front, but that only ever tells you so much. He will tell us in time but Jonny's early thoughts were that he may do well for a trip at some stage. We will have some fun finding out.

To Punchestown?... as an early thought, we may try and qualify him for the Punchy Triple Crown Series Final 2026, which was run yesterday 15.05 (bottom rated 106), various UK 'qualifiers' throughout the main season from Oct onwards. If he gets into the right ratings band, we'd strongly consider it. We've run our Kaleb at The Galway Festival and it was some weekend, and could be a fine way for this lad to end next season! :)

Kinodu Kwetu started off life in handicaps off 104, made handicap chase debut off 107, won 7 of his first 8 chases going up to OR145, winning a couple more last season also. If ever there is a horse who demonstrates the skills of team England, it's him, and maybe it's something about Casamento's and the Yorkshire air, we can but hope! I can't promise he'll be that good of course, but there's no doubt he moves powerfully like he has an engine, with a good attitude, and he'll have plenty of wins in him at whatever his level may be. There's no doubt he'll keep maturing in time, with the promise of more to come season to season. Exciting.

Old weighing room colleague of Jonny's, Callum Bewley, previously involved with the horse, reports him to be a decent jumper, and it's expected that he'll be a chaser in time - he's certainly got the size.

He will of course race 'predominantly' in the north, and we'll explore what ground conditions are best. I suspect very much a case of avoiding deep winter ground, some cut should be fine, but plenty of the sire's like decent ground, the dam handled a bit of cut. So, we'll see, but he'll be treated like a 'winter jumper' (Sept-April)- if recent seasons are anything to go by, there's plenty of decent ground to attack, and having one who handles plenty of 'good' is a benefit.

So, another young horse of promise to add to our jumps string, and to continue our association with Sam & Jonny England, who will leave no stone unturned in making sure Littletown Lad performs to the best of his ability in time. They will get the best out of him. We can't wait to see how high he climbs, and to cheer him to victory trackside, with any luck before Christmas/on handicap hurdle debut!

Hopefully with your support we can add him to our team, which will look rather strong over jumps next season proper, with Kaleb, Pounds At The Time, Give Me A Boom, Buzz Iceclear, Dixie Cowboy, Windsor Wife, Getaway Glory and Fond Farewell - all young jumpers with their best days way ahead of them. Exciting times to come.
