Subject: I can't believe I got to end the year on such a high note, and I'm so glad you were there to watch it happen.

Hello, hello, hello!

How is it possible that 2021 is now nearly ending?! the past year just zoomed past and here we are, just days away from going into 2022... what?!?

This year has gone by very quick, like blink... and a week is gone.

Is that the same for you?

I find that, as I start to get older, time just passes by quicker and quicker. Maybe it’s because, the proportion of 1 year over the number of year I’ve been alive, as a percentage, gets smaller and smaller, which is why, the years seem to get shorter and shorter. Does that make sense?

It seems to make sense in my head.

Anyway last year this time, I naively thought;

“surely things would go back to normal in a year’s time... I mean surely life would start to slowly go back to what it was pre-2020?”

Well, I guess I was very wrong.

2021 wasn’t easy but we managed to get through it. Thank you so much for your continued support on the channel

I am not going to lie, there were some weeks where I’d just sit at my desk and struggle to come up with a video idea, especially those last few weeks in lockdown.

Thanks for sticking with me!

Also, if there are any particular videos you’d like to see - whether it’s food, or visiting places, or road trips, day trips, vlogs - whatever it is you have in mind, let me know! I’d love to hear it!

Here’s 2021 in 12 uploads

JANUARY

Dad was still in town and I really enjoyed bringing them along with my food adventures. After a few videos, dad finally got somewhat use to the camera when we went to Yakitori.

FEBRUARY

Who could forget the grand opening of the Crown Sydney Towers this year? It was a long time waiting and I made sure I booked a spot to try their seafood buffet at Epicurean.

MARCH

I really had to do something comparatively cheaper, after breaking the bank in February with video production costs. That explains the corn video and instant food HAHAHA!

APRIL

This crazy journey online couldn’t be possible without the help of all the amazing friends who give me ideas, help me hold a camera or, in this case stalk last minute booking opportunities at Kuon Omakase.

MAY

In the month of May Sony Australia helped me make a video idea I had come true. I always wanted to film more late night eats, but filming in dim light wasn’t possible until Sony lent me some amazing gear. (thank you Sony!)

JUNE

NSW went into lockdown and I was watching things unfold by the hour with my phone’s news feed pinging constantly.

JULY

If I didn’t know life is not static before, then the last 2 years on YouTube has definitely hammered in that life lesson. This was my first real lockdown video and I was semi panicking at this point on how much I could continue to pivot my content while staying true to myself.

AUGUST

The panic and worry didn’t go away, but it wasn’t as loud and in the end I decided to just make content I still enjoy - given the restrictions on what was possible. I still continued to try new things, explore new cultures and had fun making mistakes.

SEPTEMBER

Keeping with trying new things and having fun indoors. This must have been my worse performing video of the year, and yet it was one of the more enjoyable ones to make. I felt like a kid back at school doing a science experiment.

OCTOBER

Lockdown is over! I hadn’t seen my brother for over 3 months and I was getting worried he wouldn’t survive much longer on instant ramen. The first thing I did was gather the fam bam to go eat and watch a movie together.

NOVEMBER

F&B just couldn’t seem to catch a break this year, and the hardest hit was Sydney CBD Chinatown. It was about time for me to give this dear-to-heart neighbourhood of my childhood the attention and love it deserves.

DECEMBER

I couldn't have asked for a better way to end the year with an awesome road trip exploring NSW. First time I've traveled in 2 years!

Happy Holidays my friends. hope you stay safe and well, and eat lots of yummy food. We will have one more video coming out before the end of the year, so I’ll see ya in my next video!
