Subject: Did I say this was going to be monthly newsletter?

Janice Fung

Time really flies

I think I said this was going to be a monthly update type thing, and that was the intentions when I started this, but mid May is around the corner...So I obviously haven't gotten the hang of creating newsletters yet.
(I'm working on it!)

So what's been new?

Well, in some ways nothing, and in others, a lot.

I think I finally have a functional apartment. My windows are no longer bare and I've gotten all my main appliances and furniture. Though I'm still deciding on a rice cooker. (I'll let you know which one I get in the end)

Which btw I really need to update my "shop" section on the website. A lot of the stuff I don't use anymore because it's my Mum's and some of the camera gear I've replaced.

Speaking of gear, I was super stoked to try some Sony Cameras for the past few weeks - I mean I am still learning but the camera quality is so good, I don't even need to be a pro to make the photos look good. (here's a video I shot using only Sony gear - what do you think?)

Btw if you don't follow me on IG, KitKat sent me this cool gift box for their new flavours in Australia - all these different flavour Kit Kats remind me of Japan, probably because they have so many unusual flavours there - they even have this creme brûlée one where you are meant to heat it up in the oven and then it's meant to bubble on top, but when I did it, it just melted...

Click the image if you want to know what the flavours are.

Travelling again...

Is not on the horizon anytime soon. unfortunately.

I may have mentioned it briefly before but I had a bunch of trips planned last year. And of course, it's disappointing that so many were cancelled but I was extra disappointed for one of them because my siblings and I had coordinated with our cousins to travel and surprise our grandma for her 94th birthday. We probably won't be able to do it for her 95th one...but I'm hoping onto hope for her 96th!!! (fingers crossed)

Now since you're subscribed to the newsletter and I've been so horrible at maintaining this, I'll give you a link to an unlisted video I made 5 years ago, when we planned a 90th surprise for my grandma: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Qu0eFO8IdA

Anywayy seeing as I'm not getting on a plane anytime soon, I'm going to continue to focus on showing the great food scene that we have in Sydney! I have been "travelling" through food for the past year, and if you have any video ideas, or requests you want to see, as usual please let me know - either by replying to this email or leaving me a comment on YT!

I think that's it for now - next video will be one of a "hidden bar" in Sydney - it was really fun to film so I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed filming it!

Farewell until the next newsletter! (which might not be next month...)

SIDE NOTE: Did you know Thai Kee IGA is selling Din Tai Fung Xiao long baos? I didn't know until recently - I'm tempted to give them a try.
