On a personal note...

Brutus looking helpless as Fenris enjoys being curled up in his new dog bed.

Jim bought a new dog bed for Brutus.

Fenris is quite pleased.

What fey would you like to see in a short story?

A picture of Jim looking very writerly typing at his computer. Three stickers adorn the back, two “Believe“ stickers from Ted Lasso and a Thicc Shark Lanky Box sticker given to him by his stepdaughter.

Jim is going to write a short story featuring a fey. In this case, by fey, he means creatures including, but not limited to, elves, goblins, dwarves, hags, banshee, changelings, and pixie type creatures.

Any characters from the Dresden Files that fit this description that you'd like to see in a short story?

It would be great to get a few short stories of the Cinder Spires. Would you ever write some about Cavendish, The Crystal that powers Predator and Folly's budding friendship, or Maul and Lord Albion's relationship/history?

Maybe. Maul’s story would be fun…

What are you a big fan of these days? Favorite authors, TV shows, movies?

Ludwig and Deep Space 9 (especially Garak)

To someone who works full time, but wants to write. What tips do you have for time management?

Five minutes is better than zero minutes. Figure out if you’re a morning person or a night person and fight to carve out a bit of that for writing.

How do I become a beta reader for Jim?

Fill out this form. Jim will periodically choose new beta readers from those submissions.

Where can I buy official Jim Butcher merchandise?

Jim just opened a merch store! Look for new products to be added a few times a year.

Will there be another Dresden TV show?

There is significant interest at the moment. Money has changed hands, so it's looking good. Nothing certain yet, but it looks good. As soon as we know something, you'll be the first to know!

I'm a writer! Does Jim have any advice for me?

Jim heartily recommends his teacher's book, the Fantasy Fiction Formula. Deborah Chester is the one who taught Jim to write, and if you want to learn from the same person who taught him, check out Deborah's book.

Until next month, happy reading!
