Friend,

It's often a habit to refer to ourselves from a point in the past. We find ourselves saying "I don't _______" or "I can't __________" speaking from how we have experienced ourselves in the past.

What I mean is, if you find it difficult to be spontaneous you may find yourself saying or thinking "I'm not spontaneous" or "I find it hard to be spontaneous" or something similar. If you don't know how to make friends easily, you may find yourself thinking or saying "I don't make friends easily" or "I can't make friends easily".

A simple hack is to introduce the word HISTORICALLY to those statements. In the example above "I don't make friends easily" you would change that statement to "historically, I haven't made friends easily". Why is this important?

Your brain will live into whatever you say - it is the brains job to prove you right. Whatever you say with conviction or repetition, your brain will hear as a command and will obey. You will begin to see and feel proof in support of your assertion.

Yes the brain is that powerful.

When a person is attempting to make a change (as in the example above, make friends easily) it therefore becomes counter productive to continually assert that you are not able to make friends easily. When you introduce the word 'Historically' it tricks the brain into considering an alternate reality, because there is no solid assertion to the contrary.

It creates enough doubt in the old "I can't make friend easily" to where you will begin to see and feel possibilities of the new truth coming to fruition.

This is a better approach than an affirmation that directly contradicts the truth such as "I make friends easily" when you know you haven't. The brain can reject that affirmation right off the bat as it is too different from the actual truth. Your brain can respond with "yeah right" :-).

However, when you use 'historically' for a period of time, you brake the hold of the previous, fixed belief and allows for the possibility of a different outcome.

In time you should feel a shift away from the OLD assertion and begin to see and feel the potential for a shift in reality. Once this happens, you can now back that potential up with a strong affirmation of the desired "I make friends easily" condition as your brain will now be receptive to that being a
new truth for you.

And in time, your truth will change. With discipline, your brain will actually begin to improve in the areas that you are instructing it to, relaxing its fixation to the previous, old pattern.

This works with ANYTHING you wish to change in your life!

Give it a try - it really does work!

Here's to creating empowering beliefs!!

Love and blessings!
