This Over 2.5 Goals strategy sucks.

And that is actually a good thing.

Because I found that out before putting real money on it.

On paper, the strategy looked fine.

The rules made sense.

It felt like the sort of thing you could easily convince yourself had an edge.

Then I ran it through the football backtesting software.

And the numbers were awful.

Losing strategy.

No hidden magic.

Nothing worth trying to rescue.

Just a bad idea.

And this is the part of backtesting people sometimes miss.

The goal is not to make every strategy look profitable.

The goal is to find out the truth before your bank does.
