Our 8th grade son, John Paul, asking for a Bud? Joseph wanting Axe spray? Grace asking for a $95 Aeropostale shirt? What's up with that?
This coming Sunday we hear of the Herodians and Pharisees teaming up, trying to trap Jesus. Should they pay taxes? It would seem like a lose-lose situation. Jesus asks them to produce a coin that bears the image of Caesar. His response invites us to consider the relationship between image, and belonging: "[R]epay to Ceasar what belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God." (Matt. 22:15-21)
So this week we're considering these questions in this week's Live IT Gathering Guide:
- What is your image? To whom do you belong? How might you more fully "repay" Him in whose image you bear?
- Going back to the Garden, what "fruit" (alternate images) are being offered you?

A final note. Ebola, ISIS, Brittany Maynard, homeless, jobless, broken marriages... the many fragile areas of our humanity signal God's Grace, our broken capacity to receive the healing, transforming outpouring of His Holy Spirit. Be the blesser you are. In Him, be IGNITED. Light it up.
