Library Director's Message

Hello!

“Nature’s first green is gold, her hardest hue to hold....” begins my favorite poem of all time, Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost. I don’t recall when I first heard this poem, though it was sometime in high school. I think of it every November even if the reference to fall is symbolic. It also reminds me to be grateful, a timely sentiment as we head into the holiday season. Speaking of, our annual Veteran’s Tree, courtesy of the Kensington Garden Club, is up! It’s a lovely way for our community to pay tribute and say “thank you” to those who have served. Stop by to look or submit your veteran for a spot on our tree.

November is also a month synonymous with food! Here at the library, we are offering a workshop on making cheddar scones. Perhaps you want to plan your holiday menus for Thanksgiving (November 25) and Hanukkah (begins Sunday November 28). Our assortment of cookbooks, available for every dietary need, will provide you with endless options. Hoopla’s holiday cookbook selection has no holds and no waiting and can be viewed on your phone or tablet—perfect for the kitchen! And finally, is this the season you’re going to wow your friends and family with a fabulous cake? Check out (literally) one of our cake pans! With more than 20 specialty pans to choose from we are sure to have just the one you need for your next baking project.

We are grateful to you, our patrons, for your continued support and enthusiasm for BPML. In order to make room for all that we have to offer you, we will begin splitting our one newsletter into three separate newsletters focused on adult services, children's services, and teens. This will allow us to share event information and library resources that best meet your needs. If you’d prefer not to receive all three you can manage your subscriptions at any time by clicking “Change My Subscriptions” below.

Thank you for using your local library. We’re here for you and we look forward to assisting you in this season and beyond.

Warmly,

Kim McNally

Library Director

Which newsletters should we send you?

The library's one newsletter is becoming three newsletters! In order to deliver the news and events that you want the most, we will be sending out separate newsletters for adult, teen, and children's events. You'll be able to subscribe (or unsubscribe) separately to any of the newsletters, whenever you like.

Right now, you are subscribed all three newsletters. To change your subscriptions, simply click the button below.
