Subject: Look what we've done now!

Berlin-Peck Memorial Library • April 2020 Update
Hi Everyone,

We are sending you a special mid-month newsletter because, even though our physical doors are closed, we are still working behind the scenes to bring you new services!

New Website
First, I am excited to share with you the launch of our new website. Starting Monday, April 20, when you go to berlinpeck.org, you will be directed to our easier-to-navigate, mobile-friendly and refreshed home page. Take a few minutes to explore!

Everything you’ve been able to previously access will still be available. If you have any trouble, staff will be available by email (library@berlinpeck.org) and by phone (860-828-7125) Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.

Quaranzine: Sharing Our Stories
Another launch I’m happy to share is our new Quaranzine, a weekly collection of creative works that document how our community is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Content will also be added to the library’s digital local history collection for posterity.

We look forward to seeing your creativity in the ways you and your families are dealing with this unprecedented time in our lives.

Social Worker/Community Liaison
And please remember, if you’re having a tough time and would like to speak to our Social Worker/Community Liaison Tara Skiparis, she is available through email or by phone at tara.skiparis@hhchealth.org or 860-716-2098.

We continue to miss you and hope that you are getting a lot out of our postings on social media and the website.

Be safe, be physically distant but stay connected. We’ll see you soon.

Library Director

The Library is accepting submissions for Quaranzine: Sharing Our Stories! Everyone is invited to submit their work, from age zero to eleventy-one.

This small online publication will showcase art and writing from the Berlin community, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Submissions may include (but are not limited to!) art, photos, comics, recipes, poetry, essays, diaries, stories, interviews, and fiction.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
It's a great time to read at home with your child! 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is an ongoing library program that encourages all families and caregivers to read at least 1,000 books (any book) to their infant, toddler and/or preschooler before entering kindergarten. You can download the first log from our 1,000 BBK page to get started, and there is no need to register. When the library opens, bring in your logs to earn your rewards!
