Dear Fathers:

Our Key to Your Child's Heart Father's Healing Weekend is coming up in just over a month (November 16-18). This weekend has been developed to give you, the father of a child with same-sex attraction or gender identity confusion, the opportunity to work with other men in the same situation on issues in your life that may contribute to preventing you from loving your child the right way and leading your family to a greater level of happiness and healing.

We are called to provide strength and encouragement to our children in a special way, and to prepare them to become parents on their own someday. Contemporary family therapy tells us that patterns from our own families, whether healthy or unhealthy, tend to be passed down to our children. Conflict and strife within the family can be an opportunity to reflect deliberately on why we do things and how we might be able to pass on the love of Our Heavenly Father to our children more effectively. Our Fathers Healing Weekend is the place where you can uncover what is holding you back from showing the Father’s love to your family.

I am convinced that fathers love their families greatly, but unless dads are willing to admit that their practical demonstrations of love frequently fall short, due to their own brokenness, they cannot manifest God’s love to their children. At the Father’s Healing Weekend, we work together to uncover and resolve some of our own unresolved wounds so that our demonstration of real love and affection can be more meaningful to our families and children.
