“Feeding the Soil to Feed Africa: Improving Soil Health to Boost Farm Productivity” will discuss the crucial role soil fertility plays in catalyzing on-farm productivity, strengthening market systems, and influencing policy decisions in order to feed the African continent.  

 

The webinar will be a series of presentations centered around a keynote address from Dr. Andre Bationo, winner of the 2020 Africa Food Prize. We will also feature Alexander Fernando, IFDC's regional director of East and Southern Africa; Eric Smaling, researcher with Wageningen University and Research; and Ruth Kinoti, a Kenyan entrepreneur who shows how this all comes together in the real world. The event will be moderated by Julie Howard from the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
