Jissen 7 Ready for Download & UK X-Po Hotel Update

Jissen Issue 7Hi All,

Just a quick update to let you know that the 7th issue of Jissen is now ready for download! Please visit www.jissenmag.com, or any of the distributors listed below, to get your free copy!

Due to our high workload this issue is sadly overdue by several weeks. Please accept our apologies for this. Thankfully Helen once again put this entire issue together otherwise you’d still be waiting for me to find a gap in my hectic schedule! It seems it is simply not realistic to promise a guaranteed publication date so, although we will still aim to get all issues out on a quarterly basis, future editions will simply be “ready when they are ready”. We have already started work on Issue 8 and subscribers to these Jissen newsletters will be informed as soon as it is ready.

I’m certain you’ll all find the content of this issue to be worth the extended wait! Thanks once again to all the authors for their pragmatic and insightful contributions and to the many readers who have ensured that all the back issues are still being downloaded in high numbers and for spreading the word to all new readers and subscribers.

We’ll you’ve all waited long enough and I won’t try your patience any further by extending this editorial any longer than needed! Enjoy Jissen 7!

All the best,

Iain

PS An update on the hotel discount for the UK Crossing the Pond Event can be found below. A few rooms left so please book quickly!

Crossing the Pond - UK Hotel Discount Update

As you may know, there had been a little confusion with the group discount for the hotel being used for “Crossing the Pond”. The good news is that it’s all been sorted out and if you have already booked at the Village Hotel it is possible to have the discount added to your existing booking. I’ve copied a message below from Al and if you drop him an email ( info@alpeasland.com ) with the name(s) you booked under the discount will get sorted out.

Al’s message also contains information for those who have not booked accommodation yet. Please act quickly as there are only a limited number of discounted rooms left.

See you very soon!

All the best,

Iain

Hotel: Village Hotel, Dolomite Avenue, Coventry Business Park, Coventry, CV4 9GZ (Phone: 0247 671 9000)

MESSAGE FROM AL PEASLAND:

To all attendees of the Coventry X-PO event,

If you have already booked a room at the Village Hotel in Coventry, could you please let me know the name(s) you booked under as we have now confirmed the Group discount booking and those already booked will also be eligible for the discount.

If you have not yet booked a room but intend to do so, please make sure you quote the “X-PO, Crossing the Pond” group when you book and also mention “Al Peasland” so that you can be added to the Group Booking list

We only have 10 rooms left in this group but may be able to extend to more if these run out. Any problems, please let me know via

Best Wishes,

Al

Crossing the Pond Details

Crossing the Pond Information! It recent newsletters I've been telling you about "Crossing the Pond" which is an amazing training opportunity in August for those on either side of the Atlantic! Well we are now just weeks away and time is running out to book your place at this one of a kind training opportunity!

The European event has people travelling from as far away as Spain and Norway! The USA event also has people travelling from all over the states! This truly is a not to be missed event.

The first event will take place in Seattle in the USA (14th and 15th of August) and the second event will take place a week later in Coventry in the UK (21st and 22nd of August).

This seminar is open to all adult martial artists - regardless of background, style and level of ability - who wish to develop competence in a wide range of martial skills. The training will be a combination of the physical and the theoretical (including short lectures and presentations). A certificate of attendance - signed and stamped by the instructors - will be issued to all participants.

Nicholas Yang - Chinese Long Fist and White Crane

Al Peasland - Real world self-protection

Iain Abernethy - Close-Range combat / Applications of kata

Marc “Animal” MacYoung - knife, gangs, guns and jail

Kris Wilder - Okinawan structure, power, and mind set

I’m thrilled to be able to meet up with members and visitors from the USA as well having the opportunity to teach as part of such an amazing line up! I have to say this is an amazing mix of the “traditional” and the “reality based” (not that I see a difference between the two terms) and I’m sure serious martial artists in both the UK and USA will be very keen to be part of this history making event!

Upcoming Iain Abernethy Seminars!

Below you can find details of my upcoming open seminars until the end of 2010. I look forward to seeing you at the next event in your part of the world!

As you can see 2010 is now fully booked and dates for 2011 are filling up. This year I have dropped the number of dates available for seminars by around one-third. Next year I intend to drop the number of available dates still further because, as much as I enjoy the seminars, there is now simply too much demand for me to meet and I need the time to do other things. I really do hate to disappoint people, so if you do want me to visit you in 2011, you need to be thinking about that sooner rather than later.

Please don't hesitate to contact me (iain@iainabernethy.com) should you have any questions on any of the upcoming events below!
