In this, the final eNews of his presidency, Paul Newson reflects with pride upon the many achievements he has been involved in as an IAGR Trustee, Vice-President and most recently as the President, while also touching upon some of the more difficult decisions he has had to make and the strategic direction he hopes IAGR may be able to take in the future.
In particular, Paul discusses the difficult decision to postpone the IAGR Disrupting the Regulator conference, his pride in the development of IAGR's inaugural International Regulatory Awards and the opportunity IAGR has to take a leading role in advocating for greater regulatory harmony across international jurisdictions and for recognising outcomes in comparable jurisdictions.

Lloyd argues the forward-thinking regulatory bodies can not only anticipate but can facilitate innovation within their jurisdictions will be well placed to simultaneously incubate a pro-consumer and pro-business environment, while also driving tax revenue for their respective government authority.

IAGR STATISTICS SUB-COMMITTEE: MINI-SURVEY 3 - ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING
Following the success of their recent COVID-19 report, the IAGR Statistics Sub-Committee is launching their third mini-survey which is focusing upon jurisdictional approaches to anti-money laundering in the gambling industry.
The survey is open for responses now, so please assist IAGR with your views on anti-money laundering. Responses will close on 31 October 2020.
As with the previous surveys, only one response is needed per jurisdiction. With results being reported on in the next eNews edition. |

The International Gaming Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is conducting research on whether or not gender's influence and leadership roles in the gaming industry have changed in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

MR ATLE HAMAR FROM THE NORWEGIAN GAMING AUTHORITY
Atle has recently returned as Norway's regulator, after having spent two years serving as the Deputy Minister in the Ministry for Climate and Environment.
This also marks a return for Atle to IAGR, with Atle a previous board member and trustee from 2004 until 2014 and serving as IAGR President during 2006 and 2007.
