Subject: IAGR Webinar on Blockchain: Request for Advance Topic Questions

Dear Members,

Following the very successful session on blockchain at the IAGR annual conference held in Johannesburg in October, and the interest generated by the publication of an article entitled 'Blockchain: White knight or white elephant', by Christina Thakor-Rankin in the December edition of our newsletter, we hope to organise a webinar on this topic for IAGR members.

But first, we want to assess what aspects of Blockchain would be of most interest to members. Our current thinking is that the overall theme of the webinar should be the impact of blockchain on gaming regulators, covering:

  • security and stability of blockchain and cryptocurrencies
  • the impact of blockchain on laws and regulations relating to crime, sources of funds and data protection
  • are lawmakers catching up with blockchain technology and if so, where should the regulation lie?
  • which authorities are currently regulating cryptocurrencies?
  • can gaming regulation can be assisted by blockchain technology
Please respond to media@iagr.org, to confirm whether the proposed contents of the webinar would interest you and your colleagues, and whether there is anything else you would like us to consider covering either in this webinar, or in a future webinar.

Your response by 26 January would be very helpful.

My best regards,

Cyrrhian Goldstein
